SMILE Newsletter 11/14/23

HAPPY TUESDAY!!
Only one more week till Thanksgiving break, almost there!!  We have lots of fun events for the month of November!

• This week: Give Thanks & RHA 
  • RHA will be tabling across campus for their postcard writing event! These are their events throughout the week, so if you are available, feel free to help volunteer with RHA members at these events!
     Tuesday 11/14: Nelson Shell Courtyard (Rain Location: Nelson Shell Activity Room)
     Wednesday 11/15: North Avenue Lawn (Rain Location: North Avenue East, Room 121)
     Thursday 11/16: Eighth Street Apartment Courtyard (Rain Location: Curran Activity Space)
     Friday 11/17: Graduate Living Center Courtyard (Rain Location: Graduate Living Center Lobby)
• Thursday, November 16th: SMILE x EXCEL Mixer (5-7pm)
  • Come hang out with SMILE and EXCEL students in the Commander Commons on West Campus (more detailed info on how to get there coming soon!)
• Friday, November 17th: Thanksgiving SOS (11am-2pm)
  • We will be writing notes on leaf-shaped paper to hang up between the lampposts around Tech Green! Check Slack for sign up!
• Tuesday, November 28th: Give Thanks GTPD Tabling (11am-1pm)
  • We will be writing nice messages on sticky notes to give to GTPD! Sign up here.
• Thursday, November 30th: Holiday Banquet (6-8pm)
  • Come celebrate the end of the semester with SMILE in the NAVE East Yellow Jacket room. It will be potluck style, and we'll have a sign up for that come out very soon.
  • We'll be having Family Feud at the banquet, so please FILL OUT THIS FORM !!

It is a REQUIREMENT to fill out the membership guidelines! If you missed the last GBM, you can find the link to the membership guideline form here, and it contains a link to our guideline doc, and the form is a digital signature that you are aware and updated as a member! We also greatly appreciate your feedback on how we can improve our events, and we have a feedback form for events that we have had so far!

We'll send reminders about these events closer to the weeks when they're happening, so make sure to respond in Slack!
